Some of most common GNU utilities(grep,less,make,wget, etc) for windows

Here are some ports of common GNU utilities to native Win32. In this context, native means the executables do only depend on the Microsoft C-runtime (msvcrt.dll) and not an emulation layer like that provided by Cygwin tools.

  • Download the zip file from the below location.

Unix Utilities in windows

  • Extract and run the commands from CMD by navigating to the location of extracted folder.
  • Or  you can include the extracted directory path to the Environment Variables of windows system settings, to use the commands globally from command line of windows.
